Dubai, UAE, 20 October 2017: Dubai Autodrome introduced its newest track activity, Roll Racing DXB, on Thursday night (19 October), which was welcomed by great enthusiasm by drivers and spectators alike.
The local petrol head community had long voiced their interest in getting a safe and affordable drag event back in Dubai, and the Autodrome worked to make it happen.
With an entry fee of only AED 400 and Grandstand Viewing just AED 20, the driver slots quickly booked out and the grandstand filled with cheering spectators for the evening.
The event was open to all kinds of vehicles, which attracted a wide range of four-wheeled machines for everyone to admire, with the likes of VWs, BMWs and Seats lining up with Porsches, Nissan GTRs, Dodge Vipers and the new Tesla S. Even trucks like Nissan Patrols and Dodge pickups were in the mix.
All drivers were given a safety briefing and outfitted with helmets before getting on track. Then the fun started when cars lined up on Turn 16 and waited for their chance to charge down the main straight and in front of the cheering fans in the Grandstand.
With the overwhelming interest that this first event generated, Roll Racing DXB is set to make a regular appearance on the Dubai Autodrome calendar. Watch this space!
