Dubai, UAE, 4 October 2018: The commitment to motorsport in the region continues to be a high priority for NGK Spark Plugs Middle East. The company now embarks on its eight season of loyal partnership with Dubai Autodrome and the local racing community, while establishing a new race series, the NGK UAE Touring Car Championship (NGK UAE TCC).
After seven successful seasons as the NGK Racing Series, which featured Touring Cars, Radicals and GTs, the Touring Car segment grew significantly to support an entire series on its own. The new NGK UAE TCC will support multiple classes including special categories for TCR Class and the Renault Clio Cup Class powered by Renault Middle East.
Managing Director of NGK Spark Plugs Middle East, Hideaki Nakashima said, “Season after season of strong support for motorsport is confirmation of the value to our brand. Loyal partnerships with local racing and with companies such as Dubai Autodrome are key to our business in the region.”
Marketing Manager of NGK Spark Plugs Middle East, Muhammad Iqbal added, “For eight years now NGK Spark Plugs Middle East has been a faithful ambassador for UAE Motorsport, and this season we look forward to launching the new NGK UAE Touring Car Championship.”
NGK Spark Plugs Middle East is well known in UAE motorsport, not just as a series partner, but also as a regular guest on race weekends. There is always an NGK merchandise tent in the race paddock, NGK officials hand out trophies on the podium and the NGK Spark Plug mascots are icons of the start grid.
Dubai Autodrome General Manager Faisal Al Sahlawi commented, “We welcome NGK Spark Plugs Middle East back for another exciting season of racing. Their enthusiasm and participation at our events has made them an endearing part of the race history at Dubai Autodrome.”
