Champions Crowned in 2020 Dubai O Plate

Dubai, UAE, 18 January 2020:  After two days of action-packed kart racing at Dubai Kartdrome, the 7th edition of the acclaimed Dubai O-Plate crowned new champions for 2020 on Saturday evening.

Up against some of the best kart racers in the world, Emirati drivers were superstars during the event, with Amna Al Qubaisi storming through the IAME X30 Shifter Grand Final, Rashid Al Daheri rescuing a win on the last lap of the IAME X30 Cadet Grand Final and Atef Al Barwani dominating the SWS Masters field.  Al Daheri also made history by collecting his record fifth O-Plate.

There was plenty of heartbreak for most of the 2019 champions as none of them, with the exception of Al Barwani, managed to defend their coveted O-Plates.  2020 was the year for newcomers and celebrations for many drivers who have been chasing over previous editions and now finally able to taste victory in this famous two-day championship.

A wealth of prizes awaited the podium winners, courtesy of IAME, TAG Heuer, Park Inn by Radisson in MotorCity, Brand, XCEL, GGM, Motorscape, GPX Extreme and Dubai Autodrome.
