2018-2019 Dubai Bambino Cup: RD1

Dubai, UAE, 7 October 2018:  Shonal Kunimal and his parents ventured all the way from Oman to compete in the opening round of the Dubai Bambino Cup on Saturday, 6 October at Dubai Kartdrome, and they were rewarded for their efforts when Shonal came home with the winner’s trophy.

Anthony Joe Khalil gave chase all day long, but a slow run in the second session cost him valuable points and ultimately the win.

Shonal Kunimal took time to get going in the first two time-trials, but then he managed to hone his skills and improve over the final two, grabbing a pair of wins to finish the day.

Dubai Kartdrome Manager David Bright said, “Fantastic competition today.  Each of the four time-trials was won by less than half a second.”

“Congratulations to Shonal for making the trip to Dubai and winning it all.  I was also impressed with the rest of grid; any of these drivers are capable of getting a victory in the next round.”
