Emirates Schools Karting Championship: Junior RD4

Dubai, UAE, 12 March 2018: Swiss International Scientific School (SWISS) Team 2 led by one point over Kings Dubai going into the final round on Monday but, by the end of Round Four, Federico Al Rifai, Oscar Lambert and Oscar McElroy of Kings Dubai turned the table on their rivals and won the 2017-2018 Junior ESKC championship by a single point.

After three rounds Andreys Ouziel, Seb Murray and Edoardo Tiralosi of All Stars were also down by one point in the Nomad category, behind NASS Nomad Team, but the All Stars grabbed a pair of class wins in Round Four to boast them up and take the 2017-2018 Junior Nomad title.

Out of the four races in the final round, Sultan Kurdali of GEMS World Academy won the first heat by 3.562 seconds over SWISS Team 2, with Kings Dubai picking up third.

Then it was the Nomad squad of All Stars who took heat two, with Andreys Ouziel crossing the finish line an impressive 14.359 seconds ahead of the field.  Kings Dubai secured second place and GEMS Motor City Team 2 nabbed third.

Enzo Al Azhari was on full throttle for SWISS Team 1; he went on to win the last two heats of the day and leapfrog SWISS Team 2 in the championship standings. GEMS World Academy had another impressive showing with a second place in heat three, while SWISS Team 3 was runner up in heat four.

When the final Junior ESKC Class championship points were tallied, Federico Al Rifai, Oscar Lambert and Oscar McElroy of Kings Dubai were jubilant to find themselves standing on the top step of the podium on 153 total points, taking the title by a single point over defending champs Enzo Al Azhari and Luke Agnew of SWISS Team 1 with 152 points.  Despite high hopes coming into the final round, Adam Al Azhari and Dara Stankova of SWISS Team 2 had to settle for third place on 136 points total.

In the Junior Nomad division, the consistent final round finishes for Andreys Ouziel, Seb Murray and Edoardo Tiralosi of All Stars paid off well, giving the team 120 championship points and the 2017-2018 Nomad title.  Maximillian Dexter and Taevan Stecyk of NASS Nomad Team put up a great fight, taking home second-place silverware with 117 points.  Kayne Cherian, Joshua Mcgregor, Elie Nassar and Vladyslav Dashkovskyy of Dragsters DXB secured third-place trophies on 107 points.
